Homemade Pretzel Combos - Pizza & Nacho Cheese
To make these, you'll need our homemade pretzel dough recipe.
Ingredients
- Pretzel dough
- 10 c water
- 2/3 c baking soda
- 1 egg
- coarse salt
- Pizza filling (see below)
- Nacho cheese filling (see below)
- For stuffing the combos, you'll either need a pastry bag with a medium sized decorating tip or you can cut a small hole in the corner of a freezer bag
Directions
- Set oven to 450 degrees.
- Bring 10 c water to a boil, then add baking soda.
- While water is heating up, roll out your pretzel dough into a long, thin breadstick shape. Cut into 1 inch pieces.
- Working in batches, boil pretzels for 1 minute each, turning halfway.
- Drain with a slotted spoon and place mini pretzels on baking trays.
- Brush pretzels with egg wash and top with coarse salt.
- Bake in oven for 14 minutes, turning trays and swapping rack position halfway.
- Allow pretzels to cool.
- Use a toothpick or straw to make a hole in the pretzel.
- Use pastry bag (or ziploc version) to stuff Nacho Cheese and Pizza filling into pretzels.
Pizza Filling
- 1 pack cream cheese, room temp
- 2/3 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 tsp each dried basil, oregano, salt
- Combine all ingredients; stir until smooth
Nacho Cheese Filling
- 1 pack cream cheese, room temp
- 1 pack velveeta
- 1/2 tsp each cumin, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, salt
- Microwave velveeta for approx 90 seconds.
- Add cream cheese and spices; stir until smooth
